FOTONA GYNECOLOGY TREATMENTS
Fotona treatments provide unparalleled treatment efficacy and ease of usability for service providers. Its impressive lasers are non-invasive and do not require any direct contact.
Fotona Smooth Mode is a an advanced erbium laser that is optimized to treat the vagina and the surrounding female anatomy, including the cervix, pelvis, uterine neck, and genital lesions. Fotona Smooth Mode also provides surface improvements to the appearance of the vagina with its non-invasive laser rejuvenation capabilities to restore volume and make aesthetic enhancements to the female genital area.
Fotona Smooth Mode has high efficiency and distinct disinfecting properties that allow the skin to heal safely and quickly. The high-precision laser can ablate the skin without heating the surrounding tissue. The main functionality of an Er:YAG laser is its ability to be absorbed by water, which is the main chronopher targeted in skin treatments. Fotona’s erbium YAG under Smooth Mode uses micron-level precision to safely vaporize the skin without causing excessive thermal conduction.
Laser vaginal rejuvenation treatments with Fotona Smooth Mode are engineered to maximize treatment effectiveness with proprietary Smooth Mode settings that are targeted to varying gynecology applications. Treatments with Fotona Smooth Mode yield high precision in the delivery of technology with Fotona-patented VSP (variable square pulse), which delivers the Er:YAG laser in alternating degrees of ablation from warm to cold ablation modalities. Variable ablation enables efficient and accurate treatment protocols, with increased safety measures.
Using revolutionary Fotona laser technology, the non-invasive laser procedure treats urinary incontinence. Virtually painless, with no need for incisions, this laser treatment does not require pre/post-op precautions. In fact, patients can immediately return to their normal everyday activities following the procedure. This technology stimulates collagen remodelling and the synthesis of new collagen fibres in the vestibule and urethral orifice, and along the anterior vaginal wall. This results in the shrinking and tightening of vaginal mucosa tissue and collagen-rich endopelvic fascia, to create greater support to the bladder and thus, return continence functions to normal.
What is Vaginal Prolapse?
Prolapse of reproductive organs and supportive structures stems from weakened, stretched, and thinning tissue. For various reasons, the vaginal walls and the ligaments that support the organs around them can lose strength and elasticity over time. Strain, tissue damage, and a host of related problems may unfold after childbirth. Numerous terms describe the specific types of prolapse that women experience, and we’ll outline some of them here.
Posterior vaginal prolapse is also referred to as both enterocele (involving the small intestine and peritoneum) and rectocele (involving the rectum). Women who have this type of vaginal prolapse describe a feeling of pelvic or vaginal pressure and fullness. The wall of thin tissue between the vagina and the rectum becomes thinner and lax, allowing the rectum to shift forward into the vaginal space and sometimes protrude. Treatment is usually conservative, with Kegels (pelvic floor muscle exercises), observation, and pessaries (silicone support rings) advised.
Anterior vaginal prolapse is also called cystocele. Urethrocele is usually accompanied by cystocele and is termed cystourethrocele. This condition develops when the pubo-cervical vesical fascia (inside the vagina, surrounding the cervix) becomes weaker. The apex of the vagina supporting the peritoneum and the small bowel can descend. The bladder may lower and add pressure within the vagina. This exacerbates stress urinary incontinence symptoms.
The risk factors for vaginal wall prolapse include:

This non-invasive and innovative vaginal atrophy laser procedure helps women reclaim their sexual satisfaction without the use of long-term estrogen therapy. Vaginal dryness, irritation, itching and pain while having sex are all symptoms of vaginal atrophy. Caused by shrinking and thinning tissues and decreased lubrication due to natural aging, vaginal atrophy is uncomfortable but can be treated successfully. This non-hormonal, non-invasive procedure is quick and safe and reverses the effects of atrophy by replenishing oxygen and nutrients in vaginal tissues. It increases elastin and collagen to contribute to mucosal elasticity and provides those suffering from vaginal atrophy with an estrogen-free solution.
What Are the Symptoms of Vaginal Wall Prolapse?
Vaginal wall prolapse can be graded on a scale of 1 to 4, where the most severe shows the total protrusion of vaginal tissue or cervix.
Women report pelvic or vaginal fullness and the sensation of pressure at the vaginal opening from organs protruding. These sensations may only be noticed when straining or coughing. SUI can occur.
In mild cases, women may not notice the internal prolapse until they become older and diminishing collagen, muscle strength, or hormone changes occur.
Enteroceles sometimes leads to lower back pain, while rectoceles may cause constipation or difficulty passing bowel movements.
Women sometimes realize they have a prolapse when inserting tampons becomes difficult or if sexual intercourse becomes uncomfortable. If you are experiencing symptoms and need help understanding changes in your body, the caring gynecology and urology specialists at Sovereign Skin will be happy to meet with you for a consultation.
You can count on sensitivity and a welcoming atmosphere where you’ll never be rushed and your concerns will never be dismissed. Sovereign’s female doctors and nurses can relate the sensitive and complex nature of the conditions they treat.
NON-SURGICAL TREATMENT OF VAGINAL WALL PROLAPSE
There are surgical options for the treatment of vaginal prolapse in severe cases. However, many patients and their doctors prefer to utilize natural methods to reduce symptoms.
Pessary devices are typically made from silicone and can be inserted to provide support from within the vagina. Pelvic floor exercises involve women consistently flexing their perineal muscles to strengthen tissues holding the bladder, rectum, and uterus in place. These exercises can help with stress urinary incontinence as well when they are done correctly and consistently.
Thankfully, today the above are not your only solutions for vaginal laxity or prolapse. Sovereign Skin is pleased to offer advanced, non-surgical laser therapy that finally addresses weakened tissue causing prolapse. IntimaLase by Fotona can help tighten vaginal tissue to lift prolapsed vaginal tissue. It quickly and painlessly firms collagen in the vaginal mucosa and stimulates collagenesis to thicken and rejuvenate the vaginal walls.
Unlike surgery, IntimaLase is non-invasive. Compared with many powerful lasers, it’s also non-ablative. That means that it doesn’t remove a thin layer of skin to trigger tissue regeneration, and it doesn’t harm the surface skin in any way.
One of the top benefits of IntimaLase vaginal prolapse treatment is that it can be completed conveniently and discreetly, with no downtime.

Sex can be great again
Major bonus! The treatment that loves to keep on giving also significantly improves responsiveness, lubrication, orgasm potential and vaginal elasticity.
